Information we collect
Information you give us
When you place an order, create an account, join our email list, book an experience, buy a gift card, apply for a wholesale account, leave a review, or contact us, you may give us your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, order contents, gift message text, and anything else you choose to include in a message to us. If you send an order or a gift card to someone else, you also give us that person’s name and email address.
If you join the Drink at Home Club or our loyalty program, we keep your membership status, subscription schedule, and points balance. Wholesale applicants give us business details as well, such as company name, business address, and resale or license information.
We do not receive or store your full payment card number. Card payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe, which handles the card data directly under its own privacy policy.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, we and our service providers collect technical and usage information through cookies and similar technologies. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, products viewed and purchased, referring site, approximate location derived from your IP address, and how you move through the site.
Information from others
We may receive information about you from our shipping carriers, our review platform, our booking platform, and advertising platforms that report on the performance of our ads.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Process, fulfill, and ship your orders, and handle returns, store credit, and customer service
- Create and maintain your customer account and order history
- Run the Drink at Home Club, our loyalty program, and wholesale accounts
- Send order confirmations, shipping notices, and other transactional messages
- Send marketing email, and text messages if you have opted in, about new products, recipes, and promotions
- Operate and improve the site, including measuring which pages and products perform well
- Show you our ads on other websites and platforms, and measure whether those ads work
- Invite you to review a product you purchased
- Detect and prevent fraud, and comply with our legal obligations
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share it in the following ways, which is typical for an online store.
Service providers who work on our behalf
Our web host, payment processor (Stripe), shipping carriers, email and text marketing platform (Klaviyo), booking platform (Bookeo), and review platform (Shopper Approved) receive the information they need to do their jobs for us.
Advertising and analytics partners
Our site includes tags and pixels from the following companies, which collect information about your visit and your purchases and may combine it with information they already hold about you:
- Google (Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing tags that pass the products you viewed or bought, and Google Analytics)
- Meta (the Facebook and Instagram advertising pixel)
- Microsoft (the Bing advertising tag)
Under some state privacy laws, the use of these advertising tags is considered “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. See “Your privacy choices and rights” below for how to opt out.
Legal and business transfers
We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business.
Cookies and tracking technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to keep your cart and session working, to remember preferences, to measure site performance, and for advertising.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may break parts of the site, including the cart and checkout.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common industry standard for how to respond to those signals, and our site does not currently respond to them.
Your privacy choices and rights
Marketing email and texts
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email or****@***********co.com and ask to be removed. Transactional messages about an order you placed will still be sent.
Advertising
You can limit interest-based advertising directly with the platforms:
- Google: myadcenter.google.com
- Meta: through your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences
- Microsoft: choice.microsoft.com/en-us/opt-out
- Industry-wide tools: optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org
California and other state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use and disclose it
- Request a copy of that information
- Request that we correct inaccurate information
- Request that we delete your information
- Opt out of the sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
To make a request, email or****@***********co.com with the subject line “Privacy Request” and tell us what you would like us to do. We will verify your identity using the email address and order information associated with your account before we act on the request. You may use an authorized agent, and we will ask for proof that you authorized them.
Some information is kept even after a deletion request when we are required to keep it, for example transaction records needed for tax and accounting purposes.
How long we keep information
We keep order and transaction records for as long as needed to run the business and meet our tax, accounting, and legal obligations. Account and marketing information is kept until you ask us to delete it or you unsubscribe and the record is no longer needed.
Security
We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections across the site and a payment processor that handles card data under its own security standards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email or****@***********co.com and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Our site links to other websites and services we do not control, including our booking platform and social media profiles. This policy does not apply to those sites. Read their privacy policies before giving them your information.
Some pages also embed content from other services, including maps from Google, videos from YouTube, and our booking calendar. Those services receive your IP address and can set their own cookies when the embedded content loads.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Material changes will be noted on this page.
