A cucumber and jalapeno sour built on reposado tequila, with muddled cilantro underneath and an egg white shake on top. It drinks cool first and hot second. Good in late summer, and the one to make when someone says they do not like tequila.

Tasting notes: Cool cucumber and green cilantro up front, jalapeno heat on the finish, lime keeping it tart. The egg white rounds the edges and gives it a perfect froth.

2 oz Reposado Tequila

6 cilantro leaves

.75 oz YCC Cucumber Jalapeno Cocktail Mixer

.5 oz Triple Sec

1 oz Lime Juice

1 egg white or aquafaba

In a shaker tin, add cilantro leaves and tequila and muddle well. Next, add egg white and shake vigorously until frothy (dry shake – this is done with no ice). Add all remaining ingredients and ice and shake until chilled. Strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with a cucumber slice.

Prep time: 6 minutes

Yield: 1 cocktail

Glassware: Chilled coupe

Garnish: Cucumber slice

Substitutions: No Cucumber Jalapeno Mixer on hand? Try it with your favorite YCC mixer or syrup instead! Skip the egg white if you would rather, the drink is thinner but it still works.
